“Amsterdam, June 17, 2020 – Booking site Zeilhuisje.nl has started a new initiative to rent out large traditional sailing ships to families as an alternative vacation location in the Netherlands. These sailing ships are normally used by groups, schools, and businesses, but due to the coronacrisis they were inactive. The sailing ships are a good alternative to a vacation in traditional vacation countries like Spain, Greece, and France, as it now appears that there might be some hindrances to the real vacation feeling due to the coronavirus measures.

The great advantage of a sail house for a family and/or household is that the stay on a (large) ship is completely coronavirus proof. Hielke Blom, CEO of Zeilhuisje.nl explains: “Families can choose to use the ship while moored in one of the many harbors along the IJsselmeer or to go sailing, for example, to one of the Wadden Islands. So you go on an ‘expedition’ in your own country.”
